.: Risk Tree Program and Timber Salvage

Woodson Incorporated has developed an integrated Danger/Risk Tree Removal Program that can be modified to accommodate a wide variety of Right of Ways in all terrain types. The Marking can consist of GPS referenced data to pinpoint tree location in sensitive areas or it can be referenced to electrical structures. The amount and nature of the data that can be collected is unlimited. The data that is collected can be processed and stored by Woodson Incorporated in an organized and easy to use format.

The harvesting of these danger/Risk trees is completed using a Timbco Felling Machine and well trained crews specializing in Right of Way maintenance and hazard tree removal. The machine is capable of removing large timber in virtually every type of terrain. We offer a cost-effective means of tree removal for both hazard trees and initial clearing. Our experience in merchandising timber and aggressive marketing is also beneficial to Right of Way management allowing us to help you recover cost and maintain a good working relationship with customers and landowners. We have equipped the machine with all necessary lighting and crews can operate around the clock seven days a week if necessary. We take the time each day to inspect the equipment and discuss any safety hazards that may arrive in order to reduce on site damage or breakdowns. Our daily tailgate safety program minimizes accidents and helps provide quality production while maintaining a strong work ethic helping our clients meet their goals and objectives.

Woodson uses its hazard tree and initial clearing crews to cut leaning and damaged trees along transmission lines. Our dozers can clear existing roads and create new ones. We provide logistics for equipment and hardware transportation, fuel and storage delivery via truck and helicopter, food, amphibious equipment and airboats during storm response. We provided traffic control and equipment repair for construction crews. Woodson crews can clean up damages behind line crews removing old structures, foundations, and reclaiming old wire and metal structures which can be sold with the proceeds being returned to the electric company .

.: Vegetatation Management Surveys

Woodson Incorporated provides a unique Vegetation Management Service for Right of Ways. Our highly qualified staff consisting of foresters and certified arborist will identify and mark all existing vegetation in or along the side of a Right of way. This service is important so that all species of trees and other vegetation on the floor or along the sides of the Right of Way which have the potential to grow in excess to the height of the power lines or those which may actually be close to touching the power lines are acknowledged and then later removed. This data collected is then processed and stored by Woodson Incorporated.

Using the most up-to-date equipment such as laser range finders, Trimble GPS Units, and the latest in software, we are extremely capable of acquiring precise and accurate data and maintaining a strong work ethic for our clients.

.: GPS Mapping and Data Collection

The world of natural resources is no longer on the backburner of technology. Using GPS data collectors and spatial analysis we can incorporate mapping layers, such as ownership boundaries, lakes and rivers, right-of-ways, together along with the information related to those layers. For example, we can map right-of-way utility poles, and attach information such as pole type and condition, distance from vegetation, photographs and any other information needed. We also use this technology for timber inventory, herbicide application, wetlands delineation and almost any type of mapping and data collection imaginable.  Our staff has expert training and several years experience with Trimble GPS equipment, Arcview, Arc Info mapping and data software.
